I noticed this before I bought the plane and now I think I've got a better idea of what's going on with the bent nose axle. It looks like the problem is in the weld from the nose plate connecting rod to the nose fork bearing. This may have been broken on a hard landing and welded back together poorly. I'll either try to replace this entirely or ask my expert welder friend, Mark, what his solution would be.
